Cancer-stimulating gas emissions
Cancer-stimulating gas emissions in the asphalt industry and their effects on the health of construction workers
In order to improve the mechanical properties of asphalt, additives such as polymers, rubber, nanoparticles etc. are added to the bitumen. Furthermore, recycled asphalt is increasingly used in road construction.
The aim of this project is to determine the effects of gas emissions during asphalt installation on the health of construction workers by systematic investigations. In addition to protecting the health of construction workers, environmental protection, a resource-conserving use of the asphalt materials and the optimization of the production of the asphalt are the focus of this project.
