Aachener Fachsymposium Straßenwesen – Smart Infrastructure
SETAC e.V. Research Association.
For comprehensive and timely implementation of future-oriented mobility, the road infrastructure will also have to increase its performance and, in particular, expand it. The road infrastructure initially has a supporting function, but is increasingly becoming a necessary prerequisite. This is particularly true with regard to fully automated or autonomous driving in complex environments as well as for electrically powered traffic.
High-quality and complete road equipment are just as much a prerequisite for autonomous driving functions as, for example, continuous coverage with mobile networks, up-to-date traffic situation information, digital traffic information or modern communication systems between the vehicle and the infrastructure.
Electrically powered transport is particularly favored via intelligent load management or other forward-looking approaches such as dynamic inductive charging.
Within the framework of the "Aachen Symposium on Road Systems - Smart Infrastructure", these problems in particular will be highlighted and discussed. The aim of this symposium, which will be attended by representatives from private industry, administration and research in the fields of road and traffic engineering, is to catalyze topics of current and necessary research and development needs.
Participation in the web conference is free of charge and recognized as a continuing education and training measure in accordance with § 6 FuWO.
