Installation Section
The Institute of Road Engineering has its own test and demonstration facility. On this test site with a length of 40 m and a width of 3 m, installation tests can be carried out as full-scale tests. The complete equipment chain consisting of a road paver (Vögele SUPER 800-3i), a tandem vibration drum (Hamm HD 10 VV) and a milling machine (Wirtgen W 500) is available for this purpose. Under real paving conditions, for example, new construction materials and methods can be tested and optimisations of the construction machinery as well as the paving process can be analysed by means of experiments.
