Realtime Measurement of Road Quality Using On-Board Vehicle Sensors
Modern vehicles are fitted as standard with numerous sensors, which can be used to measure the operating condition and, to a certain extent, the surroundings of the vehicles. In a cooperation project, the aim is to examine the extent to which a further evaluation of these routines by means of statistical evaluation allows conclusions to be drawn about the nature of the road infrastructure. The overall project includes sensor-based feature acquisition, preprocessing, data generation for function assurance, statistical evaluation of geotemporal data by methods of statistical learning, and the development of the underlying data processing infrastructure.
